The ARC Show hailed a success

17 February 2010 17.00 GMT

(UK) – The organisers of The ARC Show 2010 have hailed this year’s event - which took place at Earls Court Two from 4-5 February - a huge success with exhibitors and visitors alike.

The show reported a record number of visitors (3075), which was a 17% increase on last year’s total.

Exhibitors also recalled a successful show. LEE Filters commented: “Over the two days we’ve been very happy with the show and have made some interesting contacts. Some very strong business potential has come from the event and we’ve see a good range of visitors, including interior designers, lighting designers and architects”.

The event is now in its sixth year and is the only show of it’s kind in Europe. This year’s show featured some of the world’s leading lighting brands including Albioncourt, B.Lux, Mike Stoane Lighting, Mizar, Universal Fibre Optics and XAL.

Mike Stoane Lighting commented: “It’s been a very busy show. The conference has drawn in extra people so there has been a high footfall. We’ve seen a good range of visitors and use ARC to keep in touch with existing clients”

The sold-out International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) Enlighten Europe Conference also ran alongside the show. The ARC Show was further supported by an additional four lighting associations, including the Institution of Lighting Engineers (ILE), Lighting Industry Federation (LIF), Lighting Association (LA) and the Society of Light and Lighting (SLL).

The SLL presented their coveted Young Lighter of the Year award at the show, which was won by Seda Kacel from Total Light Design Studio.

An impressive 80% of exhibitors from this year’s show have already re-booked for next year’s event, which is set to return to the Business Design Centre, Islington from 12-13 January 2011.

Event Director Cathy Oates explained the move: “The ARC Show has established itself as the leading event for the architectural, commercial and retail lighting sectors. It provides this hugely influential audience with the opportunity to not only see the very latest products from the leading suppliers, but also attend one of the many educational seminars and conference sessions and networking events. To allow the event to incorporate all of these elements more closely into the show floor we have decided to take The ARC Show back to its spiritual home with its fully purpose built conference and seminar facilities. This move can only serve to further strengthen the event.”
