Entry-level and Senior Lighting Design Opportunities

The Lighting Practice is a Philadelphia based lighting design firm with 25 years in the A/E/C Industry. Our portfolio includes major projects throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe. We are seeking motivated, creative entry-level and senior designers with experience in the lighting industry or a related field. Our projects are diverse and challenging - we have designed exterior building lighting, specialty lighting for retail entertainment centers, major universities, as well as corporate and healthcare facilities. Our design process is collaborative and interactive. Our team welcomes designers with strong communication skills (oral/written/graphic) who enjoy working on a variety of project types in a team environment. All experience levels are welcome to apply. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Full time positions include a complete company paid benefits package.


JOIN THE LIGHTING PRACTICE’S DESIGN TEAM IN PHILADELPHIA

JOB DESCRIPTION
A Lighting Designer will work on a variety of project types in a team environment with their Project Manager and other Lighting Designers. Responsibilities include concept design thru realization of finished project including drawings, renderings, lighting calculations, mockups, specifications and presentations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: ENTRY-LEVEL LIGHTING DESIGNER

• Bachelor’s Degree in Lighting Design or a related field 
(Theater Lighting, Interior Design, Architecture or Architectural Engineering)

• 0 - 2 years of experience in the lighting industry or related field

• Strong communication skills (oral, written, and graphic presentations) 

• Fluent in spoken and written English

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: SENIOR LIGHTING DESIGNER

• Bachelor’s Degree in Lighting Design or a related field 
(Theater Lighting, Interior Design, Architecture or Architectural Engineering)

• 5+ years of experience in the lighting industry

• Experience working on a project from SD through CA

• Experience managing client interaction and presentations

• Strong communication skills (oral, written, and graphic presentations) 

• Fluent in spoken and written English

SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY

• Lighting calculation programs (AGI)

• Auto CAD

• BIM Software (Revit)

• SketchUp

• Rhinoceros 3D (Rhino3D)

• MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Adobe Creative Cloud experience is a plus, but not required 
(Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
