Aldabra strengthens presence in India

11 November 2011 15.30 GMT

(India) - Italian lighting manufacturer Aldabra opens two offices in India to build on success in the region.

The announcement was made during the Economic Times Acetech exhibition, an event dedicated to the construction industry that took place in Mumbai from November 3 - 6. Aldabra will be there with an exhibition space of 150 sqm.

Aldabra has been one of the success stories of the lighting industry this year, achieving a remarkable 40% increase in its turnover compared to the previous year. And thanks to this investment, the turnover in India is expected to quadruple in 2012.

The company, founded by Aldabra’s CEO Walter Gadda in 2000, is a well-known Italian business that develops and creates lighting systems with LED technology on a worldwide scale with 80% of its total sales being international and 10% coming from India.

Commenting on the launch, Gadda said: “India is a fast-growing industry as far as lighting design is concerned, that’s why Aldabra has focused on establishing tight links within the local network in the last year and a half.”

“The two Indian offices allow the company to provide better technical support to local clients during the entire project life cycle. Moreover, all the architects and lighting designers that are working on important local commissions will be followed directly on the spot by Aldabra, which will help and support the professionals with the utmost care.”
Aldabra’s Indian staff consist of 15 employees in Mumbai and New Delhi. Both venues feature Experience Centers, training areas for presentations and workshops for visiting architects and lighting designers.
