Alfred Felder appointed Tridonic CEO

23 July 2012 09.30 BST

(Austria) - Tridonic has announced that Alfred Felder is to become the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Effective from November 1st, he will succeed Walter Ziegler, who left the company in January.

Felder has worked for several years in each of Japan, the US and China. Since 2003, he has filled various management roles in the areas of OLED and LED technology with Osram, where as Senior Vice President Sales he is currently responsible for Osram’s worldwide general lighting sales activities.

He began his career in 1990 as project manager in the R&D department at Siemens and stayed with the company until 2003. During that time he held a range of specialist and management functions, including at Siemens central R&D department in Germany, with Infineon in Japan and in the field of ceramic materials and components in Germany. In September 2003 Alfred Felder moved to join Osram within the Siemens Group.

According to Zumtobel Group CEO Harald Sommerer, who has been acting as interim Tridonic CEO since January, Felder will be key to renewing the fortunes of the group’s component business. “With his extensive knowledge of LED and OLED technology, his familiarity with the industry and his leadership skills, he will be able to play a major part in ensuring that Tridonic is fit for the future in this dynamic phase of the technology shift. I am convinced that in Alfred Felder, the new COO Gavin Brydon and CFO Werner Blum, we have an outstanding management team with whom to set Tridonic back on course for sustained profitable growth.”
