Design Interactive lighting competition

(Slovenia) - Lighting control hardware up for grabs in interactive lighting installation competition.

LightAct, a Slovenian company who has developed an interactive lighting control system, has launched a competition called Design Interactive looking for ideas for an interactive lighting installation.

The winner receives LightAct's main controller module reActor and its innovative interface module SmartView worth over 1.400,00€. reActor is the hardware that is able to control a DMX universe, is programmed through the LightAct Software Suite and can have four LightAct interfaces connected to it.

SmartView is a compact piece of hardware that can take any video feed and detect the location of people in it. A standard 20EUR security camera or even a computer camera used for skype chats can be plugged into it and connected to reActor which controls the lights based on SmartView’s output.

Participants should submit a clearly presented concept for an interactive lighting installation on one A3 sheet of paper in pdf format with up to ten images and a short explanation of the concept in English and in no more than 400 words. The images can be sketches, renderings or whichever technique you are most comfortable with.
