New evolution for The ARC Show

26 July 2012 08.30 BST

(UK) - 2013 show to re-locate to London’s ExCeL as an integral part of UBM’s May Design Series aimed at designers and architects to take place from 19-21 May.

The May Design Series will satisfy the appetite of London-based architectural, retail, interior design and property communities who buy and specify for projects around the globe. For the first time, four separate, focused events (The ARC Show, Interiors LDN, kbb LDN and DX) will combine to serve the broad sourcing needs of these key specifiers. With innovative show features and unique exhibitors, the May Design Series will showcase the full spectrum of design.
Working in close collaboration with leading lighting publication mondo*arc, who will assume full sales responsibility and work closely with UBM to help shape and develop the event and its content, The ARC Show will continue to reflect its core values, while improving the offering to its unique audience.
Brand Director Andrew Vaughan commented: “Each year we work closely with the lighting design community and take on board their insights to ensure we deliver the right event for the industry, therefore our commitment to strengthen our relationship with mondo*arc, the industry’s leading publication, will only serve to make the 2013 event its best ever. By developing our content we were able to deliver a fantastic 2012 event which saw an increase in audience groups such as architects and lighting designers and a unique experience for exhibitors and visitors alike. Our plans for the 2013 event reflect their insights and we are confident that those at the forefront of the industry will benefit from the broader business reach and increased revenue opportunities.”
He adds, “While The ARC Show has successfully brought an intimate collection of key UK and International lighting suppliers together, the scale of the show does not permit for a true exploration of the lighting industry. We look forward to taking with us all of the enhanced educational and creative content that the Business Design Centre has allowed us to incorporate within the show and we’re confident that this is the right move to ensure that The ARC Show retains its position as the lighting event for the design industry.”
London is recognised as one of the world’s most dynamic cities, and East London has taken pride of place as its creative hub. Moving The ARC Show to the state of the art venue of ExCeL within London’s ever-evolving East, the show will undoubtedly benefit from the capital’s continued regeneration as a result of London 2012.
Paul James, Editor of mondo*arc said: “The focus of The ARC Show and mondo*arc has always been on the design, as well as the lighting, industry. Whilst still appealing to lighting designers, incorporating The ARC Show within the May Design Series event will give lighting companies an opportunity to be part of a large London design event that will allow them to communicate with designers and architects who wouldn’t normally visit a small lighting show. I’m very excited about this venture and look forward to spreading the word about lighting to the design community.”

The ARC Show will take place at ExCeL, London from 19-21 May 2013. For more news from the lighting industry’s definitive event, follow the show on twitter @thearcshow or visit
