Hoare Lea moves to new Oxford office

2 February 2009 9.00 BST

(UK) - The new Oxford-based offices will provide engineering firm Hoare Lea with a base for 15 engineers, lighting designers, support staff and other management group personnel.

There is expansion space for an additional ten employees.

Hoare Lea has worked in Oxford and the surrounding area for more than 15 years and has been based in serviced accommodation in the city for the past two years. The establishment of a permanent office reflects the Firm’s success in winning and delivering projects, and in building a strong client base in Oxford.

The new office is led by Ian Durbin, Partner, and Matt Jones, Associate. The Oxford team offers mechanical, electrical and environmental engineering expertise and operates across all property sectors including education, research facilities and offices.

Current projects on which Hoare Lea is working include: the Department of Earth Sciences with Wilkinson Eyre Architects for Oxford University; the Research Complex at Harwell for the Science and Technology Facilities Council; offices at Milton Park; and projects with various Oxford colleges, including Brasenose, Pembroke, Wolfson and The Queen’s College.

The office is located in the centre of Oxford and many of Hoare Lea’s projects will now be within walking distance. Showers and bike storage have been incorporated to encourage cycling and Hoare Lea has purchased company bikes for employees to use around the city.

Ian Durbin, Partner, Hoare Lea, comments:

“The new office is located in the centre of Oxford. It provides us with a high quality workplace for our staff that is also close to many of our projects, clients and fellow professionals – this will undoubtedly improve the service we can offer to our clients in Oxford and the surrounding area.”

The new address is: OLD IRON WORKS, 35A GREAT CLARENDON STREET, OXFORD, OX2 6AT
