(USA) - Lighting Leader of Arup Americas among five promotions to Principals in New York.

Arup Americas' Lighting Leader Brian Stacy has been promoted to Principal of Arup's lighting practice in the Americas. He has over 20 years experience in lighting design and has focused his design-driven solutions for a range of exterior and interior environments in the museum, performance art, civic, transportation and corporate sectors.

One of his most high profile projects was the phenomenal LED gridshell enveloping the Yas Hotel which spans the Abu Dhabi grand prix circuit in 2009 when he was Project Director for the New York-based Arup team. It still stands as the largest LED project in the world.

Commenting on the promotion, Stacy said: “Arup is known for its creativity and high-quality work inside of the industry. Adding Principal to my Americas Lighting Leader title provides recognition of the international quality and performance of award winning Lighting Design Leadership. I feel this is a great milestone. One of which I'm happy to say is recognition of years of hard work and commitment to the ideals set out by Ove Arup.”

Stacy is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) and has previously served on the International Association of Lighting Designers sustainability committee, the education committee for the New York chapter of IES and the USGBC LEED Technical Assistance Group for lighting.
