gpstudio adds new lighting design division

(UK) - gpstudio, the specialist retail design consultancy, introduces new lighting division following acquisition of creative lighting practice office of [light].

office of [light], who has worked on a number of high profile stores including Burberry’s London flagship on Regent Street and Victoria’s Secret’s European Flagship on Bond Street, will form part of gpstudio’s wider, strategic and integrated design consultancy following the acquisition. gpstudio is a London-based consultancy specialising in global, luxury brands.

The office of [light] team has a wealth of experience across lighting engineering, architecture and design, with work spanning the whole spectrum of lighting design, from reviewing lighting efficiencies through to large scale architectural flagship projects. It collaborated with gpstudio on a number of key designs since their inception in 2011 by Russell Lipscombe who passed away last year, including the recent redesign of Asprey’s flagship Bond Street store and the award-winning new store for The Whisky Shop on London’s Piccadilly.

Founded in 2004 by Gregor Jackson, the studio has since worked with brands including Mulberry, McQ by Alexander McQueen, Theo Fennell, De Beers and Aspinal of London, with retailers including Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Brown Thomas and John Lewis. Following the recent acquisition, the business now has four key areas of expertise: brand strategy, architecture, interior design, and lighting. Together, these provide captivating environments and meaningful communications, all underpinned by strategy and technical expertise.
