FontanaArte Opens New Flagship New York Showroom

13 October 2009 04.30 BST

(USA) - FontanaArte has moved its New York showroom from Tribeca to 45 Greene Street in Soho, home to some of the most important Italian design companies in the world.

The showroom was designed by Architect Piero Russi for an area of almost 3,230 square feet, and is divided into three levels. Like all of the other FontanaArte flagship stores, the new space offers the full taste of the company’s products including decorative, outdoor and architectural lighting as well as the accessories and furniture lines. All FontanaArte products with a more decorative content are displayed on the ground floor. On the back wall framing the main desk, an image of Milan links the store to its Italian roots and the city the city where the FontanaArte was founded back in 1932.

Downstairs, lighting systems with more technical features plus fixtures designed for outdoor use are displayed in Russi’s playful interpretation of an outdoor courtyard. Upstairs, a mezzanine level provides a meeting room where clients can meet with the staff to discuss their projects.
The space, in its white and red tones, is intended as a reflection of FontanaArte’s design ethos: to create timeless objects, where beauty is never separated from technical analysis or from extreme attention to functional detail. The new flagship store also confirms the importance of the US market as one of the most relevant for the Group.
