Sill Lighting publishes 'Stations' brochure

19 October 2009 09.00 BST

(Germany) - Sill Lighting has just published a new A4 full colour ‘Stations’ brochure with case histories of how Sill projector technology has provided successful lighting schemes for stations and transport centres around the world.

Sill works alongside many leading firms of lighting designers, architects and engineers to achieve optimum results. Projects featured in the new brochure  include St Pancras Station in London, Berlin Hauptbahnhof, Bijlmer Station in Amsterdam, the Transportation Centre in Incheon, South Korea, and Auckland Ferry Terminal in New Zealand.

The new brochure illustrates over 30 stations and interchanges, 12 of which are in the UK, with large format images, descriptions of the project and an overview of projectors used. Detailed product information highlights Sill’s reputation in providing precision engineered luminaires with computer designed optics for high performance lighting in major projects.

Today, railway stations have many functions: primarily they serve as a hub where travellers can board, disembark or catch a connecting service. However, they also provide convenient and comfortable meeting points and the modern station may also serve as a full-blown shopping centre with a high amenity value - the ‘destination station’. Indeed some stations have become fashionable in their own right.  Lighting plays an important part in creating atmosphere, accentuating the architecture, helping visitors find their way around and ensuring a pleasant atmosphere in parts of a station that may receive no natural light.  Sill’s new brochure shows successful examples of all of these varied functions.

Copies of the new Stations brochure are available on request from Sill Lighting UK by calling +44 1844 260006, emailing, or by visiting the company’s website.
