28 March 2011 16.00 BST

(Germany) - Leading up to the company’s planned Initial Public Offering (IPO) this autumn, the Supervisory Board of OSRAM GmbH has nominated Wolfgang Dehen (57) as new Chief Executive Officer and Martin Goetzeler (48) to the position of Chief Operating Officer with effect from April 1, 2011.

Wolfgang Dehen is to leave the Managing Board of Siemens AG at the end of March 2011.

The planned forming of an OSRAM stock corporation provides for his nomination to the OSRAM AG board as President and CEO. "In Wolfgang Dehen we have secured the services of a first-class manager for OSRAM, with a wealth of experience in the IPO process and the Managing Board of a stock listed company", commented Prof. Siegfried Russwurm, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of OSRAM GmbH.

"Furthermore, Martin Goetzeler as COO stands for success and continuity in OSRAM’s business operations. We shall consequently have at OSRAM a highly qualified management team with the firm objective of joining forces with the OSRAM workforce to shape the future of the lighting market."

Since January 2008 Wolfgang Dehen has been CEO of the Energy Sector of Siemens AG. He previously held various positions in the automobile industry, including most recently serving as President and CEO of Siemens VDO Automotive GmbH.

Martin Goetzeler has stood down from his position as CEO of OSRAM GmbH and was simultaneously appointed Chief Operating Officer by the Supervisory Board. He is to retain this function after the forming of OSRAM AG as a member of the Managing Board.

Dr. Klaus Patzak, currently Head of Corporate Finance Reporting and Controlling at Siemens AG, is designated as the Chief Financial Officer of OSRAM AG. Thomas Schaffer will take over new responsibilities within Siemens AG.
