Buggs Lights

Not just a luminaire, but also a comment on the greed and prosperity of boom and bust.

Sebastian Wrong has taken a decorative classic and given it a political twist. Each opal glass spheres are hand blown and acid etched, with the gold tooth painted then fired onto the glass.  These grinning Buggs Lights are available as suspended fixtures or in a variety of materials (glass, marble, concrete, polyurethane and wood) as table lights. A display of Wrongs lights can currently be viewed at Established & Sons gallery in Mayfair, London.
"Having successfully launched the Buggs Light at this year's Salone, Sebastian has pushed the work further conceptually, by adding the gold teeth to an already existing product he is referencing the notion of 'perceived value' through material and finish. The work is a clear commentary on the current economic and political climate," says Alasdhair Willis, CEO of
Established & Sons.
