Cantax, Emanon and Optec LED versions

ERCO now offers spotlights with the latest generation of LEDs in daylight white and warm white.

ERCO's spotlight ranges - Cantax, Emanon and Optec, which are already established as varychrome spotlights are now available with new LED technology. As specialist in architectural lighting technological advances have made LED spotlights in daylight white and warm white light colours possible. ERCO selected the latest generation of white high-power LEDs due to their improved performance in terms of luminous flux and colour rendition. These new professional lighting tools deliver the advantages of LEDs in numerous practical applications. In many cases they are now a viable alternative to conventional light sources such as low-voltage halogen lamps.

Exceptionally long life, high energy efficiency, with negligable IR and UV components are properties that characterise LEDs. The result is that lighting tools with LEDs provide the user with sustainable economic efficiency through their low operating costs, while allowing sensitive exhibits and products to be illuminated without any detrimental radiation. For Cantax, Emanon and Optec, ERCO not only uses modules with the latest generation of white high-power LEDs that offer further advantages: they are comparable with metal halide lamps in terms of light output, while being dimmable and capable of hot restart, as are low-voltage halogen lamps. The lamps are available in two versions, daylight white (5500 K) and warm white (3200 K). The daylight white version has a particularly high luminous flux, while the warm white lamp is optimised in terms of colour rendition. The spotlight housings provide for ideal thermal operating conditions, allowing the LEDs to perform at full strength in terms of life and light output. These new spotlights all fit perfectly into the system design of ERCO's entire range, as they all ensure efficient visual comfort, while consistent design unites them with the other spotlights in the range.

Cantax, Emanon and Optec with white LEDs are particularly suitable for accent lighting in museums, as well as sales and presentation areas. Based on the beam angles of conventional spotlights, they provide an additional choice between two light intensity distributions _ spot and flood. This is achieved thanks to ERCO's innovative lens systems which combines collimators and spherolite lenses, as the particular properties of LEDs required a new approach within the lighting technology.

The collimator initially directs the light in a parallel beam. The spherolite lenses which are made of transparent plastic with a defined high convex spherical microstructure surface. This is synomymous with ERCO's unique Spherolit reflectors for halogen or high-pressure lamps. The lenses determine the optical characteristics and thus also the beam angle - in the spot version with a beam angle of between 10 and 20°, and in flood version with a beam angle of between 25 and 35°.

The new LED spotlights are available as Light Clients with DALI-compatible control gear. This means that they can be integrated into the Light System DALI for scenographic lighting as easily as the existing spotlights. The digitally coded luminaire control gear is given an ID. The result is that the software of the Light Studio lighting control system recognises the Light Clients, which enables the whole range of easy-to-use functions making them truely Plug and Play. The versions of the spotlights without DALI interface can be dimmed manually using the potentiometer on the control gear.
